The Meaning Behind Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a relatively new federal holiday. It is a day that celebrates the life and achievements of this great American Civil Rights Leader. He brought hope and healing to our nation and his timeless values, those of courage, truth, compassion, and justice, are forever remembered. In the words of Coretta Scott King, “on this holiday, we commemorate the universal, unconditional love, forgiveness and nonviolence that empowered his revolutionary spirt”. When it came down to it, Dr. King didn’t just talk the talk. He truly walked the walk and that’s what makes his words so credible. He fought racial injustice and he fought for equality. He dreamed of a color-blind society and put his life on the line each day for this movement he truly believed in. His most famous address was the “I Have A Dream” speech. 2018 Lake of the Ozarks Eagle Days

Don’t have plans this weekend? No problem! The 18 th Annual Eagle Days is taking place this Saturday, January 6th, and Sunday, January 7th. This event is one of the most popular winter events at the Lake of the Ozarks and O’Donnell Law Center has all the information you need. This is the 18th year that Eagle Days has been at the Lake of the Ozarks. The first live eagle program was held in 1999 and had attracted 651 participants. Last year, there were over 3,700 people that had attended the event which made it one of the most successful Eagle Days. Visitors are urged to bring binoculars and cameras for optimal viewing and photo opportunities of wild eagles at Willmore Lodge and below the Bagnell Dam on the Osage River. This event is FREE and open to the public. It will take place from 9 am to 5:30 pm on Saturday, January 6th and from 10 am until 4:30 pm on Sunday, January 7th.
