O'Donnell Law Center : Lake of the Ozarks

I consider myself a “local” here at Lake of the Ozarks. In 2004 my mother moved my sister and I to Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, to be closer to family. I graduated from Camdenton High School in 2010. After graduation, I went into the workforce holding positions such as reservationist, server, and receptionist, eventually going on to manage a winery. After my daughter, Emmalyn, was born in 2014, I took a year off from work. I reevaluated my career path and decided to pursue my passion for education and work towards becoming an Elementary School teacher. This fall, I will start my senior year at Central Methodist University and in Spring of 2019, I will complete my student teaching. This September will mark my 2 years working at O’Donnell Law Center. I have always had a passion for helping others and a desire to expand my knowledge in various subject areas. This Saturday is Cinco de Mayo and there will be a lot of activities going on around the Lake of the Ozarks. While Cinco de Mayo is great for drinking and spending time with friends and family, it is a representation of so much more. The fifth of May is a holiday that celebrates the date of the Mexican army’s victory over France in 1862. Distracted driving has been increasing lately and it’s not just taking place around the Lake. When it comes to distracted driving, there are many different forms. Distracted driving can be caused from a visual, manual, or even a cognitive distraction. Check out this great information about distracted driving from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the DMV, and MoDot. Distracted Driving Laws In Missouri According to the DMV, the distracted driving laws in Missouri are less strict than in most states. These laws that went into effect in 2009 include a ban on texting for novice drivers, but no ban for all drivers. There is also no ban for talking on the phone while driving.
