National Mom & Pop Business Day

Locally owned businesses are the backbone of a strong community. According to the 2010 Census, there are almost 30 million small businesses registered in the United States.  At the Lake of the Ozarks, we have many incredible local businesses. These businesses reflect the personality of our area. We are proud to be a locally owned business and we love the community we are in.

Shopping locally helps to improve the local economy.

When a consumer buys locally, the money they spend benefits the community and helps to support the business owner who is invested not only in their own business, but in the area in which they conduct their business.

You will establish a personal connection.

When you are working with a locally owned business, you have an opportunity to establish a personal connection with someone invested in the company. Having to call a 1-800 number can be a nightmare for many and the customer service representative may be far removed from the decision-making process.

Locally owned businesses help keep the community unique.

Locally owned businesses are one of a kind and truly add a unique touch to each community. Whether it’s a favorite breakfast spot or a unique boutique, small businesses bring flavor to your area. Having different types of businesses in your community not only brings new things to your area, but they make your community different than anywhere else.

When you support a local business, you are also supporting your community. March 29th was National Mom and Pop Business Day. What better way to celebrate than to get out into the community and support locally owned businesses?
